The new high-speed Sublette quad lift will replace the original Sublette lift this coming winter, which had been in service since 1987. Earlier this year, JHMR removed the old lift and auctioned off all 83 chairs from the original setup. As part of the auction, JHMR generously donated 20 percent of the profits to Teton Adaptive, a local organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities enjoy outdoor recreation in the greater Teton area.

The new lift is manufactured by Leitner-Poma, a Colorado-based company known for producing advanced ski lift systems. In a spectacular display of engineering, the lift towers were recently installed by helicopter, with the help of Alpine Cable. This cutting-edge lift marks a significant upgrade, ensuring a smoother, faster ride for skiers.

Like its predecessor, the new Sublette lift will provide access to a wide range of intermediate and expert terrain just below Rendezvous Bowl. However, due to the location and size of the new top terminal, JHMR has made adjustments to create a slightly new traverse into Tensleep Bowl. The new lift will be supported by 15 towers and feature 72 European-style comfort chairs. For added convenience, skiers will load directly onto the lift, which will operate in a clockwise directionโ€”a first for the resort.

One of the most exciting changes is the significant reduction in ride time. The new lift will cut the ride in half, dropping it from eight minutes to just four. It will climb approximately 1,600 vertical feet at a speed of 1,000 feet per minute, delivering skiers to their destinations faster and more efficiently than ever before.

Tim Mason, VP of Operations at JHMR, expressed his excitement about the progress, stating:

โ€œWeโ€™re thrilled that construction of the new Sublette lift is going well and is ahead of schedule less than two months before our opening day. The new Sublette is a faster and more powerful detachable quad chairlift that will provide access to a variety of intermediate and expert terrain just below Rendezvous Bowl. The new lift will cut ride time in half while climbing approximately 1,600 vertical feet at 1,000 feet per minute, offering guests access to some of the legendary terrain JHMR is known for.โ€

With the upcoming winter season just around the corner, JHMR’s new Sublette lift is set to provide skiers and snowboarders with an even better experience, combining modern technology with access to some of the resort’s most iconic terrain.
