Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has announced plans to begin construction of new employee housing. Being one of the largest employers in townโemploying 600 people year-round and up to 1,900 during peak winter seasonโadditional employee housing for the resort to offer to long-term and short-term employees will be beneficial.ย
Plans include a combination of apartment-style units consisting of single, two, and four-bedroom options. Covering 31,000 square feet, over 30 units will be built, essentially doubling the current amount, adding another 90 beds to the previous 92.ย
The new buildings will be located right next to the current employee housing, known as โPowderhorn 1.โ It’s conveniently located within walking distance to Target, Albertsons, the Post Office, and the START bus stop.ย
This investment follows the completion of the North Stilson complex, consisting of 12 two-bedroom townhouses. The resort continues to acknowledge the high demand for employee housing in the area.ย
โJHMR is proud to invest in affordable housing options for our workforce that will relieve pressure on the communityโs demand for housing,โ resort president Mary Kate Buckley said in a press release.ย
Construction will begin in mid-April and will take about 16-18 months to complete. The resort plans to be able to offer long-term and short-term housing to both seasonal and tenured employees come the 2023-2024 ski season.ย
