Keystone Resort in Colorado is officially open for the 2023/24 winter season. Opening Day was today, Wednesday, November 1, and, boy, does it feel good to be back on the slopes. More than a foot of snow has fallen this week and temperatures have been ideal for snowmaking. Guests started lining up for Opening Day on Monday night, October 30, more than 36 hours before the resort opened, to claim the honor of First Chair.
Keystone is the first resort on the Epic Pass to open for the season and is now open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests have access to two miles of terrain from the top of Dercumย Mountain to the bottom of the Montezuma Express lift,ย plusย a mountaintop hike-to terrain park! First-time and beginner skiers and riders also have access to learning terrain at the top of the mountain via the Kokomo Carpet. Toย end the ski day, guests can download the River Run Gondola back to the base of the resort.
Keystone will continue to make snow at every opportunity to expand terrain offerings this early season and will be working towards top-to-bottom ski and ride access out of River Run as well as connecting to the Mountain House base area next.
This will be a special season for Keystone, as the Resort preparesย to debut its brand-new high-speed, six-passenger chairlift, Bergman Expressย this winter. The new chairlift will provideย lift access to Keystoneโs high alpine terrain for the very first time,ย specifically Bergman and Erickson Bowls,ย and feature 16 new ski trails.
