Today was yet another powder day at Kicking Horse, BC.
Yesterday, T1, T2, and Whitewall didn’t open so we showed up early and were rewarded with being the first ones up the T1 hike.
It was all-time up there.
Deep, dense, huck friendly powder was slathered on everything and we took advantage.
Through the trees, down the runs, back on the Gondy, down to the Stairway To Heaven Chairlift, then out into the backcountry.
We JUST missed timing the Whitewall opening perfectly.Â
Miles. Kicking Horse. Today. image: snowbrainsWhitewall looked unreal today and we missed it and I was kinda freaking out and pissing Duane off by going on and on about missing it, but I couldn’t help it. It looked as good as it gets…
The backcountry was rated at Considerable at all elevations today.
We did two runs in the mellow backcountry that were most lovely, plenty deep, frighteningly fresh, and awfully lonely.
Too much fun.
After those two runs we called it a day and felt damn good about it. Â
Lots of smiles. Lots of high fives. Lots of hoots today.
