Like all of us, Killington Resort, VT, was unsure how the season would pan out. To limit capacity, they began by not requiring ticket holders to reserve their days but did require all visitors to reserve their parking spaces.
We are implementing an online parking reservation system for all guests. This means that whether youโre a season passholder or day ticket holder; you will need to let us know youโre coming. Implementing this system proactively will help us track and manage volume and ensure an experience that enables appropriate physical distancing.
Early December, the resort then introduced a ‘cancel for karma‘ policy and started punishing ‘no-shows.ย However, the days of parking reservations (except weekends and peak days) appear to be coming to an end. A social media post yesterday announced that beginning next week, they will no longer be necessary.’
: Starting Tuesday, January 19, we will only require parking reservations on Saturdays, Sundays, and Peak Days, February 15-19.
We’re able to make this change because lift and terrain capacity is allowing plenty of space for social distancing, and we have not had a need to limit visits on midweek days. This new policy will be in effect for the foreseeable future, but we may need to reinstate midweek parking reservations in the spring in the event that limited terrain once again creates capacity issues.
If you currently have midweek parking reservations beginning Jan. 19, you do not need to cancel them. Our parking no-show policy will not be in effect on days when no reservation is required.
A reminder that the rest of our Operation Stay Safe requirements, including Cross-State Travel Guidelines, remain in place.
