Killington ski resort in Vermont saw one of their biggest snowstorms of the year last night.
In this one storm, they picked up 6% of this season’s total snowfall…ย which was only 5″…
“9:53 am 05/16/16–We kid you not, skiers and riders. Last night we picked up a 5″ dump from the heavens on top of Sunday afternoon’s healthy dusting. That’s right – in the early hours of May 16, we picked up over 6% of this season’s total snowfall in one our biggest storms of the “winter” season.” – Killington, VT today
It’s been a rough season on the East Coast, with Killington only receiving 81″ of snowfall this entire winter.
But, Killington is still open on weekends and they’re hoping to stay open until Memorial Day (May 30th).
Fingers crossed for a better winter next year.
This was the worst season ever i have seen in 22 years skiing here, Not a good trend, have lost 3 to 4 months of good skiing. Rains right after most storms now, kills the backcountry. Looks like time to move to Colorado the green bud state.
