Kirkwood continues to harbor some good chalky snow, having pulled big totals out of the storm two weeks ago.ย Now open to capacity and hosting the first stop of the Rahlves’ Banzai Tour this past weekend, Kirkwood has been churning out the fun.ย Blue skies, smooth snow, and a lack of crowds makes the Kirkwood conditions great and the place to be, especially over a very crowded presidents week.
With a slightly higher elevation than resorts around the lake, they didn’t see the torrential rain at the base area that most of the resorts around Lake Tahoe received. The high elevation has also been helping to keep the north facing snow smooth, chalky, and sweet.

The Rahlves’ Banzai Tour also returned this year, after multiple delays and reschedulings due to lack of snow.ย Kyle Coxon won the qualifying heat with the familiar face Johnny Bochenek absent from the field.ย
