Lake Tahoe in California is currentlyย over 1-foot above its natural rim!ย In fact, the lake is 1.03-feet above its natural rim. ย This means that the Truckee river is experiencing a decent flow for the first time in over a year and a half.
The last time the Truckee river had any appreciable flow from Lake Tahoe was in Octoberย 2014.
CURRENT LAKE TAHOE STATS:
- Natural rim: ย 6,223′
- Current water level: ย 6.224.03′
- Breached natural rim for first time this year: ย April 10th, 2016
- Current Truckee river flow at Lake Tahoe outlet: ย 71 cubic feet per second (up from 19cfs onย 5/3/16)
Is the Lake above the rim in Nevada too or is it just the California side?
Obviously you don’t understand how water works
And you don’t seem to understand the concept of humor.
I don’t follow the significance of ‘natural rim’. I’d also like to know the average height with the dam in place, if I understand.
Natural rim = the lake’s natural rim without the influence of the dam in Tahoe City, CA. The dam can raise the lake up to 6′ above its natural rim via 17 gates that can be open or closed. Currently only one gate is open. thanks
