According to its website, Lovelandโs snowmaking team typically starts making snow the last week of September in preparation for a mid-October to early-November opening. Expert local crews and professional snowmakers work around the clock to ensure Loveland is one of the first resorts to open for the season with a full top-to-bottom run covered from tree to tree with an 18โณ base.
Thanks to Lovelandโs elevation and the expertise of its snowmaking crew, Loveland has a reputation for having the best early-season conditions in Colorado. Loveland makes snow on 240 acres of terrain, and snowmaking is usually completed in early/mid-December.
Loveland joins a host of other resorts that have announced opening days this week thanks to snowstorms that have dumped feet of snow on mountain regions.
