Yep, sharks murdering and eating people in Lake Tahoe, California. That’s what Hollywood thinks will scare people. And it will. After I saw Jaws as a kid, I was scared of swimming in pools.
Supposedly, there will be some major Hollywood names rolling around in Lake Tahoe this year.
“Names you recognize and you see.” – Jeffery Spilman, producer with Reno Tahoe Studio, told KOLO-TV
One of the reasons the film is being shot in Tahoe is due to Nevada’s new 19% tax break for filmmakers shooting movie in the state of Nevada.
“The next couple months, you’re going to see a lot of people staging to get ready to shoot next year because they are going to want see how that incentive will actually play out.” – Jeffery Spilman, producer with Reno Tahoe Studio, told KOLO-TV
It appears that “Shark Movie” will be the first of many movies to come to Nevada. This tax break is big and Hollywood is paying attention.
It should be pretty interesting to have a Hollywood movie being filmed in Tahoe. We’re certainly used to camera’s up here in Tahoe and Squaw, but we certainly aren’t used to the trailers, tents, primp, and pomp of Hollywood style filming. Should be fun.
Who cares if any hollyweird types are going to be on Tahoe ??
a comment on the accompanying pic of Cage –
Just another reason to NEVER see another Nick Cage movie (other than his movies suck ass and have since “Leaving Las Vegas”)- the rat bastard lobbies for another tax break for the RICH a 19% break is just another giveaway to the have ate the expense of the states other services, will I get a 19% break if I do business in NV – hell no, I’m not rich enough to lobby the state. This isn’t a boon for anyone but the film makers.
