Mammoth, CA Report: Disturbingly Fun Terrain Park Laps With Bernie Rosow In Touring Bindings

Report from July 7, 2023

On Friday I showed up to Mammoth Mountain hoping to rip some park laps.

They had taken down the small of the 2 big jumps and I was too scared to hit the big one so I went to the mini park on Forest Trail.

To my delight, they’d beefed up the mini jumps just a little bit and put really nice ramps on them.

After one warm-up run, I ran into local legend Bernie Rosow.

He was all smiles and ready for mini-park fun.

I followed him through the park a few times and it was disturbingly fun.

Bernie casually threw 540ยบs, switch 540ยบs, 360ยบs, unnatural 360ยบs, and did all kinds of weird stuff on each and every rail.

I had a blast watching the show and I swear just jumping near him made my park skiing smoother and more relaxed.

After a handful of park laps, Bernie suggested we go to Chair 1 and ski some top laps.

On the way, he went thru the big park, hit every rail, and threw a yawning 60′ 360ยบ.

The top skied great as per usual and we skied right until the closing bell at noon.

I did a 24-hour fast on this day and it felt great.

NOTE:ย  Mammoth closed Chair 2 today for the season and their new operating hours are 7:30am – 12pm.

Thanks, Mammoth!
