Mammoth Lakes, California was rocked by a 5.2-magnitude earthquake today at 7:36am PT.
Today’s earthquake had its epicenter 30-miles northeast of Mammoth Lakes at a depth of around 6.2 miles, according to the USGS.
There was another earthquake today in the same region at 9:22am that was a 4.6-magnitude.
Two more earthquakes followed today at 10am and these were ranked at 3.9 and 4.1-magnitudes.
Last Sunday, Mammoth was hit by a 4.1-Magnitude earthquake that had an epicenter about 40-miles south of today’s earthquakes.
Current quake cluster east of Mono Lake is an area that has at times had very energetic sequences with multiple larger events, so we won't be surprised at more events today. In 1915 and 1954 there were M~7 events to the north of here. Luckily most of the faults are far from towns
