Mammoth Mountain in California is having a heck of an early season.
They opened way back on November 10th and they just saw 30″ of snow Wednesday – Friday.
Now, Mammoth is open top-to-bottom.
They’ve got 8 lifts open accessing 37 trails.
That’s the most terrain open anywhere on the west coast.
2 storms are forecast to hit Mammoth this week with the second one being an atmosphericย river bringing the potential for FEET of snow…
* Storm #2 Wednesday-Thursday - a stronger, more favorable jet position may result in longer duration and higher snow/rain amounts. - colder system (snow levels ~6000`) with a weak moisture tap. * Atmospheric River guidance hitting on a long duration event for midweek, but exact position of AR is lower confidence. The position of the jet along with the weak-moderate moisture tap may allow for a couple feet of snow in the high Sierra from Wednesday afternoon - Thursday. - NOAA Reno, NV today
We’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking.
