The 2024-25 ski season has kicked off for some mountains across the country, and Mammoth Mountain, California, is set to join the party today. Earlier this week, Mammoth received 5 inches of snow, and low overnight temperatures are expected throughout the week, with more snow in the forecast for the area. It is shaping to be another great start to the year, with Mammoth entering its 71st season. The resort will be the first to open in California for the 2024-25 season.
Opening day offers plenty of events for the whole crew to enjoy. Events kick off on Friday, November 15. The opening events will start at 7:30 a.m. with complimentary coffee and cocoa before the lifts start spinning. The first 100 people in the lift line will get a free 24/25 #MammothBeanie. The Woolly annual First Chair and Banner Breakthrough starts at 8:30 a.m. The 2024-25 annual season toast will be held at Tusks sundeck, where guests can enjoy a small complimentary beer or sparkling cider at 11:00 a.m. Shortly after that, the music will start when the Tim Apple Band hits the stage from 11:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Other opening weekend activities will also be available for guests to enjoy. Swing byย Woolly’s Adventure Summit and unleash your inner tobogganist on the Mountain Coaster. It is open 10:00 a.m.โ4:00 p.m. from Friday, November 15, to Sunday, November 17. Guests can also take an aerial ride up the mountain on the Scenic Gondola to explore all the fun at the summit. The gondola is open 8:30 a.m.โ4:00 p.m. from Friday, November 15, to Sunday, November 17.

For Opening Day Friday, 11/15
Expected lifts include the Lower Panorama Gondola, Face Lift Express (3), and Unbound Express (6). The Upper Panorama Gondola will be open for scenic rides 11/15-17. Trails expected for Opening Day include Broadway, Saddle Bowl, Silver Tip, and Rustyโs.
On Saturday, 11/16
The mountain plans to add Discovery Express (11) and expand the terrain to include Sesame Street.
