Mammoth Mountain, California, shared on its website as well as social media channels that the resort will offer skiing and boarding until Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. This means visitors have 20 more days to get their turns in at Mammoth. The resort is closing earlier than in past years, to ensure our summer construction projects are completed smoothly and in a timely fashion for an even better experience next season. With 367 inches of snowfall recorded for the season, Mammoth had a slightly below-average season.
Operations Update
Operating hours at the resort have shifted to 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. daily for skiing and riding. Broadway Express is now closed for the season and there is construction work in the surrounding area. Main Lodge and The Mill will be open until closing day Monday, May 27. Roller Coaster Express will be closed Monday to Thursdays and re-open on the weekends, Friday to Sunday, through the remainder of May. Canyon and Eagle Lodge are closed for the season. The Tube Park at Woolly’s Adventure Summit and Snowmobile Adventures are also closed for the season. Party in the Park has been moved to this Saturday, May 11.
Memorial Day Closing Weekend
For the closing weekend, the resort will bring back Mammoth Yacht Club. Pull up your anchor, raise your sails and chart your course for a weekend full of sea-themed fun in the mountains. Wear your most seaworthy costumes and outfits to enjoy live music, boat races, giveaways, and more.
Saturday, May 25, will feature the third annual Mammoth Yacht Club “Boat Races” from 11:30 a.m. Visitors can enter this fun competition as an individual or on a team, or cheer from the sidelines as the captains and their crew slide down the course in their cardboard vessels. Boat Race sign-ups will be published on the resort’s social media sites at a later stage.
A range of live music will be featured during closing weekend, the lineup of which will be announced soon. Special limited-edition Mammoth Yacht Club apparel will be available for purchase at Mammoth Sports Main Lodge and McCoys in The Village, while supplies last.
Summer Operations
Summer operations will commence on Friday, May 24, with Mammoth Bike Park, Sierra Star Golf Course, and the Adventure Center opening at Mammoth Mountain.
Mammoth Bike Park will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Following an “average” winter of snowfall, the resort will be able to open the following trails for opening day:
- Uptown to F Stop
- Downtown from F Stop
- Shotgun
- Smooth Operator
- Big Ring
- Paper Route
- Timber Ridge
- Juniper
The Sierra Star Golf Course wil be open daily from 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. The Sierra Star Golf Course is the Eastern Sierra’s only 18-hole Championship Course. Tee off with an early morning round, or save on Twilight play after 1:00 p.m. Call 760.924.GOLF to book your tee time. Find the lowest prices of the season on Sierra Star Cards and passes before prices go up on June 10. The Snowcreek Golf Course, a 9-hole course, will open later in the summer.
The Adventure Center will be open on weekends only from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Unlock all the excitement over Memorial Day Weekend at the Adventure Center, located next to the Panorama Gondola building. Snag a 2-Hour or All-Day Adventure Pass and enjoy access to the rock climbing wall, ropes course, junior zip line, and S.A.F.E. Archery®. Online reservations will be available starting mid-May.
