Despite California having it’s lowest snowfall winter on record (and maybe in 1,000 years), Mammoth is going to be staying open until Memorial Day (May 25th) this year.
“For the past 27 years, we’ve been skiing and riding on Memorial Day weekend and thanks to a little late season love from Mother Nature we’re doing it again! Snow is currently coming down hard at Main Lodge which means we’ll be spinning the lifts through Memorial Day. The gondola will reopen Fri May 22-Monday May 25.” – Mammoth
Mammoth opened before Thanksgiving and is staying open until Memorial Day. ย That’s 180 days of operations. ย Impressive.
Mammoth was going to close on May 10th – then a storm dropped 18″ of snow and they extended indefinitely. ย Another big storm is hitting right now that has already dropped 5″ and is forecast to drop another 7″ inches tonight. ย All this new, late season snow had added up to Mammoth staying open until Memorial Day. ย Unreal.
Thanks Mammoth.
