On Friday, a man in his seventies was reported dead at Mount Baldy Resort in British Columbia after getting stuck under a ski groomer. After an attempt at first aid, Mount Baldy employees were unable to keep the man alive, the RCMP reports.

After an investigation was launched by both the BC Coroners Service and WorkSafeBC, Mount Baldy was forced to stay closed on Saturday this past weekend but was able to reopen on Sunday.

In a post on Mount Baldyโ€™s Facebook, the resort says,

โ€œWe are all devastated. The intense emotions we feel are beyond comprehension. We cannot begin to grasp the overwhelming pain and sorrow the family is going through right now. We know there are no words to comfort them.โ€

Mount Baldy is a small local resort located around two hours south of Kelowna, BC. Many heartfelt comments and messages have been posted to Mount Baldyโ€™s Facebook in condolence for the man whose life was tragically lost on Friday.
