The National Weather and Climate Center is reporting that some areas of Northwestern Montana are currently sitting on a snowpack (snow water equivalent) of 6,600% of average for today’s date right now.
That storm that came through Montana in the end of September dropped up to 52″ of snow in spots (see image below).
The storm this week dropped up to another 12″ of snow in Montana.
The snow is staying deep because it’s damn cold in Montana lately – as cold as -8ยบF in West Yellowstone, MT on October 10th, 2019 (see image below).
