Mount Bachelor, OR, Starts Season 2 Weeks Earlier Than Planned

Mount Bachelor, Oregon, has announced that it will be starting the season two weeks earlier than initially planned. Thanks to recent snowfalls and efforts by the snowmaking team and mountain operations, the 2024-25 season at Mount Bachelor will kick off on Friday, November 15. It marks the earliest Mount Bachelor has opened in 26 years.

The resort is planning to operate the Skyliner and Little Pine lift from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ย from Friday, November 15 to Sunday, November 17. The annual banner breakthrough celebration will be held on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the bottom of the Skyliner lift. There will also be free Deschutes Brewery beer tokens, mini burritos, music, and more.

Access for the early opening will be limited to passholders only. The Nordic Center will also be open with access to Nordic Passholders. There will be a limited number of park features off of Skyliner in Pacific City starting this weekend.

Passholders eligible for the early opening are:ย 

  • Outplay 365,
  • Full, Midweek,
  • 4-Day,
  • and Ikon Passholders

Season passes can be printed at one of the resortโ€™s many Pick-Up Boxes (PUBs). PUBs are located at the Sun Country Tours locations in Bend and Sunriver, and at Mount Bachelor outside the Mountain Gateway building in West Village Base Area. To redeem at a PUB, scan the QR from your confirmation email and receive your RFID pass card from the ticket printing kiosk.

The resort will open to the public on the following weekend, November 22-24, with daily operations starting on November 29. Please note that there is no access from November 18-21 and November 25-28. The Uphill policy will be in effect starting November 15. All uphill travelers must have a free 2024-25 Uphill Pass and display with an armband at all times traveling uphill at Mount Bachelor. Passes can be obtained online, and picked up at Guest Services at West Village or at Sun Country Tours in Bend. The cone route is the only uphill route open this weekend. Please note, Mount Bachelor’s uphill access will be fully closed to the public on weekdays until November 29.
