Mount Bohemia, located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, is offering a lifetime pass to their ski resort. On Instagram, the mountain stated that:
“Mount Bohemia will be selling lifetime season passes for $1,299. These season passes are good for 75 years. Sales will be limited to 100 people this year. Buy passes during season pass sale.”
Even if $1,299 seems high for a ski pass, the price is exceptionally reasonable. Good for 75 years, the lifetime pass is cheaper than a single-season pass at both Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the Aspen-Snowmass Resorts. In fact, if a skier with the lifetime pass rode ten days per season over the course of the pass’s lifetime, each day of skiing would be worth under $2. That is definitely a bargain!
Mount Bohemia “has the longest runs with the highest vertical and deepest powder in the Midwest.” Although Mount Bohemia is slightly off the grid, being hundreds of miles away from the closest major city, log cabins, yurts, hostels, and campsites provide beautiful ski-in ski-out, slopeside accommodations.
The terrain at Bohemia is comparable to western terrain and includes steep slopes, cliff bands, tree glades, and exposed rock formations. Lake effect snow falls frequently, and for the most part, the ski area is ungroomed, which allows for blower powder, bumps, and natural kickers. Additionally, the neighboring mountain, Voodoo Mountain, offers cat skiing on over 1000 acres of skiable terrain (not included on the lifetime pass).
$1299 for unlimited lifetime skiing is not a bad deal, and on top of Bohemia, Michigan has a lot to offer, including several major cities, sand dunes, and a beautiful waterfront on Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.
