The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning and a Winter Storm Warning for California.ย The Blizzard Warning is in effect from 12:00am pst tonight – 10:00pm Monday night. The Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 4:00pm Tuesday afternoon.
This is only the 6th Blizzard Warning that has been issued in the Sierra Nevada since 2008.

A Blizzard Warning has been issued for the Sierra from midnight tonight through 10pm Monday. Dangerous and life threatening blizzard conditions are likely in the Sierra. Multiple feet of snowfall are expected. Strong winds will produce zero visibility in whiteout conditions along with high drifting snow. Do not attempt to travel as first responders may not be able to rescue you. Even a short walk could be deadly if you become disoriented. Avalanche danger will remain high.

Snow levels are forecasted to drop down to 1,000ft โ 2000ft on Monday.ย
The 6-10 day outlook calls for above average precipitation and below average temperatures in California.
