What happens to the snowpack with all of this warm weather? At the lower elevations, the snow does melt with water running off into the reservoirs. At the higher peaks however, water should remain in the form of snow into the spring and summer!

Worried about what the record heat of late has been doing to the California snowpack?  Us, too.

According to this video by NOAA, high elevation snow isn’t going anywhere and that’s a good thing for us skiers and snowboarders.  This year should be a great year for touring the Eastern Sierra with good snow lasting well into June.  We hope.
