Norwegian Ski Racer Ragnhild Mowinckel Announces Retirement

After 12 seasons on the World Cup circuit, Norwegian ski racer Ragnhild Mowinckel announced her decision to retire.


According to a video the 31-year-old skier shared on social media, she made the decision before her first-ever Downhill victory at Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, earlier this year. The Norwegian skier’s strongest disciplines were Super-G and Giant Slalom, in which she had podiumed seven and five times respectively. She won silver in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Downhill and Giant Slalom.

Mowinckel has confirmed she will see out the remainder of the World Cup season and will compete in the World Cup Finals in Saalbach, Austria.
