It’s really getting late in the season now. There are only 3 ski resorts that are open in the normal sense of the word. We just discovered that you can ski and ride from the Snowbird Tram right now. In reality, there are 5 ski resorts open right now if you include the Jackson Hole tram and Snowbird tram. Snowbird and Jackson Hole are essentially backcountry experiences right now, but it’s still lift access.
After this weekend, we’re only gonna have 2 resorts left. If you’re living in Washington, get up to Crystal Mountain for the last weekend of year. We are in love with the fact that Crystal stays open so late and we’re hoping to see skiers and riders take advantage of it.
CLOSING DATES FOR SKI RESORTS IN N. AMERICA:
– Timberline, OR = September
– Beartooth Basin, MT/WY = July 13th
– Crystal Mountain, WA = June 16th (weekends only)
– Jackson Hole Tram, WY = until the snow runs out… (this is still doable as of last week. We have a report coming from June 5th shortly. Check out the photo below.)
– Snowbird Tram, UT = until the snow runs out… (we actually didn’t know this was an option. this has been viable for 2 weeks now. Check out report of skiing from the Snowbird tram yesterday: Snowbird Tram ski conditions)
Valle Nevado in Chile opened up on Saturday. The Southern Hemisphere winter ski season has officially overlapped the Northern Hemisphere’s winter ski season.
