As the snow continues to fall and starts to accumulate, more and more resorts are beginning snowmaking operations, and more and more are in good enough shape to open.ย Great Divide became the first Montana resort to open, last weekend, although Utahns will have to wait a little longer as Brian Head resort postponed their Friday opening. And we are seeing a bunch of midwest resorts start to turn their lifts.

And not forgetting Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, CA who kick off their ski season today.

As snow continues to fall and we move towards December November, let’s hope we see even more resorts open soon.

  1. A bunch of Minneapolis area hills will be opening this weekend too…
    Buck Hill, MN
    Hyland Hills , MN
    Trollhaugen, WI

  2. There is a huge difference in the operations of A-Basin and Keystone ski area. I skied both areas on opening days of each area. A-Basin was just ok. Snow conditions were marginal at best. Keystone on the other hand was perfect. Snow conditions were amazing for an early kick off. The trail Upper School Marm was wide and had nice depth from top to bottom. Not a rock or root.
