The storm forecast to dump up to eight feet of snow on ski resorts in the Tahoe region landed last night, bringing intense snowfall and 100 mph winds.
“All lifts at Palisades Tahoe (Palisades and Alpine) are closed today, Friday, March 1st, due to intense snowfall and 100+ mph winds.
We are expecting today (Friday) to be a very big snowfall day, so there will definitely be operational impacts tomorrow (Saturday). We will aim to put out more information around 4pm today on what to expect tomorrow.”
It’s not all bad news, though. The expected snowfall has allowed the resort to extend its opening through Memorial Day.
Elsewhere in Tahjoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe will remain closed today, as will Donner Ski Ranch.
