Palisades Tahoe, CA, Kicks Off Summer Season with Resort-Wide Offerings and Signature Events

Guests can enjoy warm-weather activities, special events, and live music all summer long.

Palisades Tahoe, California, ushers in the summer, starting with music programming, outdoor exploration, and family-friendly events.ย 

Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival: The 7th Annual Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival will take place at Palisades Tahoe on August 3 and 4. Headliners include Shaggy, Atmosphere, Rebelution, and Cypress Hill, among other notable live performances. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $93/kid, $229/adult, and kids under 3 are free.

Aerial Tram: Offering fun for the entire family, the 10-minute Aerial Tram ride takes guests over breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The tram drops riders off at High Camp, reaching 8,200 feet above sea level. Pack a picnic, bring the dog, or gear up to play in the snow to enjoy a day filled with outdoor adventure. Ikon Pass holders ride free this summer, and ticket prices start at $49/adult and $34/child. The Tram opens for the summer season on June 7, will run Friday-Sunday through June, and then open for daily operations on June 28.

High Camp Summer Experience: By purchasing an Aerial Tram ticket, guests can access adventurous activities, including mountaintop roller skating, disc golf, and geocaching. Pending snow melt, High Camp offers access to hiking trails with panoramic lake views.

Washoe Cultural Talks: In partnership with the Washoe Tribe, Palisades Tahoe will offer free Washoe Cultural Talks again this summer. Guests can join members of the Washoe Tribe at High Camp to learn about their long history in Olympic Valley, Lake Tahoe, and the Sierra Nevada mountains, featuring in-depth stories, preserved artifacts, and important natural landmarks. The talks will be at 10:00 a.m. at High Camp on June 28, July 26, August 23, and September 20. The talks are free with early special $29 Tram lift ticket or Ikon Pass.

Summer Hiking: Departing from High Camp, The North Face Naturalist Walks are free of charge and take place every day the Aerial Tram is open. Walk the 1.5-mile High Camp Loop Trail through the meadow and learn about plants, animals, geology, and history. You can choose between two departure times: 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

Additional Seasonal Activities: Palisades Tahoeโ€™s most iconic rock face will be open for exploration this summer. Outfitted with permanent steel anchors and cables, participants can navigate the rock face on the Via Ferrata, accompanied by local guides from Alpenglow Expeditions. Guests can also explore the Olympic Valley Treetop Adventure Park, with options for beginner and intermediate skill sets,ย or take advantage of bike rentals at Palisades Tahoe to explore the Truckee River or head down to Lake Tahoe.

Kids Adventure Camp: Starting June 17, Palisades Tahoeโ€™s Kids Adventure Camp will be open to kids ages 5-13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Adventure Camp allows kids to unplug and explore the mountains through curated activities, including nature crafts, scavenger hunts, Aerial Tram rides, and more. Pricing starts at $160/day. Guests can use the Kids Adventure Camp 5-Pack to save up to $100 this summer. 24/25 Ikon Pass holders get a 10% discount with the promo code IKON10.

Rocker: Join us for our new brunch menu at Rocker, open Saturdays and Sundays from 8 AM to 2 PM, Rocker partners with regional farms to offer sustainably sourced ingredients inspired by the iconic peaks of Palisades. Enjoy your meal on our patio, where you can relax and take in the breathtaking mountain views. Rocker is open throughout the summer, from 11 AM to 9 PM Monday through Friday, and from 8 AM to 9 PM on weekends.

Events: The Village at Palisades Tahoe will feature special programming and events. There are a series of family-friendly events throughout the summer, including:

  • Bluesdays is a free outdoor concert series featuring top blues musicians every Tuesday from 6:00-8:30 p.m. June 18ย through August 27.
  • First Street Yoga is a free outdoor yoga series offered every Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. from July 3 through August 28. Please note that registration is not required this year, but the event will be first-come, first-served.
  • The Great Bingo Revival is a free family-friendly bingo experience every Thursday from 5-7 p.m. Each week a new restaurant in The Village at Palisades Tahoe will host for the chance to win prizes each round.
  • Sunsets Live Music Series offers free live music featuring the areaโ€™s talented musicians every Friday from 5-7 p.m. in June, July, and August. Please note that due to other events, there will be no Sunset Live Music on Friday, August 2, or August 16.
  • Brews, Jazz & Funk feat. Galactic will feature live music and an array of beers from over ten local and regional breweries on August 17. Tickets can be boughtย here.
  • Alpen Wine Fest is an all-inclusive wine-tasting event featuring over 40 wineries and live music on September 1.
  • Guitar Strings vs. Chicken is the annual Village battle between restaurants on September 6. Six restaurants and six bands will compete to appoint a winner of the โ€œBest Wingsโ€ and โ€œBest Bandโ€ champion trophy and $500 cash prize.
  • Adventure Van Expo is a family-friendly weekend with various vendors, live entertainment, food, and beverages on September 14-15.
  • Oktoberfest is an annual event filled with authentic German beer, Bavarian music, dancing, and games on September 28.
  • Made in Tahoe Festival returns October 12-13 for a weekend filled with artisans, workshops, live music and performances that celebrate all things local.

Palisades Tahoe will also host The Broken Arrow Skyrace, presented by Salomon, June 21-23. Elite and recreational runners alike will experience the beauty of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains in this unforgettable trail running event, which includesย off-trail scrambling, vertical challenges, and stunning views.
