Despite it only being October, the mountains are looking very wintery this morning under a blanket of new snow.

Palisades Tahoe, CA, received 4โ€ of new snow overnight, its first accumulation of the 2021-22 season.

Forecasts say this is just the start to an unseasonably snowy October, with more snow on the way this week and next. The resort is busy gearing up for the ski season, with opening day scheduled for November 24, weather and conditions permitting.
