Over the past weekend, Copper Mountain in Colorado had helicopter operations taking place on the mountain to remove old lift towers from the Timberline Express chairliftย to make way for the new lift, which is being constructed this summer.ย
Copper has partnered with Leitner Poma to upgrade the Timberline Express chairlift, located on the western side of the mountain.ย The resort is replacing the 4-person chairlift with a high-speed 6-pack chairlift, which will greatly increase the liftโs uphill capacity. The new lift isย set to debut for the 2024-25 winter season. This upgrade reaffirms Copper Mountain’s commitment to investing in the on-mountain experience.
The chair replacement is in continuation of the resort’s Western Territory expansion and once complete, will increase access to some of Copper Mountain’s most sought-after intermediate groomed terrain. With a focus on enhancing convenience and accessibility, the upgrade will cater to both seasoned athletes and beginners, ensuring everyone can spend more time exploring the resortโs Western Territory and less time on the lift.
