After the season is before the next season for U.S. ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin, who has been kicking off her training for the 24/25 World Cup season with a session at Copper Mountain, Colorado.
The 29-year-old ski racer shared a series of photos on her social media channels from the training days in her home state Colorado. The legendary ski racer has spent the majority of the season in Europe for training and competitions but has now returned home. The 29-year-old Vail-native recently got engaged to Norwegian ski racer Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and has been spending time with him at the end of the FIS Alpine World Cup season in Salzburg, Austria, where Kilde has a home.
“What an incredible training camp at home…the conditions finishing up at Copper Mountain the last few days were UNREAL! Thank you to the whole crew who made my first prep period camp of the 24/25 season so great. Winter-like conditions, sunshine, and an awesome environment. And a massive shout out to my team, as always, for all of your hard work!”
Shiffrin had a tricky yet still successful 23/24 World Cup season in which she claimed the Slalom Cyrstal Globe but was unable to defend her Overall Alpine Title due to an injury sustained in a crash during the Downhill race at Cortina, Italy, in January 2024. The injury forced her to pause for 44 days in the middle of the FIS World Cup. She returned to racing in March at Åre, Sweden, towards the end of the 23/24 World Cup season.
