While Palisades Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain received a dusting in the last couple of days, Mount Shasta received almost 16″ of fresh snow.ย Meteorological Fall is still a week away. It’s still summer.
California’s Mount Shasta, standing at over 14,000 feet, will see 12-18 inches of snow tonight as the state’s first snowflakes of the year fall across NorCal’s tallest peaks, mostly above 8,000 feet.

Winds gusted up to 70 mph, temperatures dropped to 11ยบF, and snow was as low as 6,900 feet.
