After a slow start to the season which saw only one chairlift running for skiers, Australian resorts woke up to fresh snowfalls on Wednesday morning, June 12.
Victorian resorts reported 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) of snowfall, while New South Wales resorts reported a bit more, with Thredbo reporting 13 cm (5 inches) and Perisher reporting 25 cm (10 inches) of snowfall in the last 24 hours.
The best part is that there is more snow in the forecast: the Australian Bureau of Meteorology has 2-10cm (1-4 inches) of snow forecast for today, Wednesday, and then some smaller top-ups for the weekend. In addition, temperatures will be cold enough to allow snowmaking throughout the week.
