Police yesterday released the name of the man who died in a skiing accident at Brighton Ski Resort on Monday. The skier has been identified as Michael Rueckert, 63, according to a tweet from the Unified Police Department.
Rueckert lost control when he skied around a bend and hit a tree trying to avoid a stopped skier.
Members of Brighton’s ski patrol and paramedics with Unified Fire Authority administered first aid but were unable to revive him. Rueckert was pronounced dead at the resort.
