Are you looking to improve your skiing technique? What better way than to learn from the best in a three-day clinic at Sugar Mountain, North Carolina, run by ski legend Krista Schmidinger? Schmidinger is a retired former U.S. Alpine Team ski racer who competed internationally from 1986 to 1995. She won the Gold medal in Super-G at the Pan American Games in Las Leรฑas, Argentina, in 1990, she competed for six years on the World Cup circuit, posting four Downhill top 10s. and competed in the 1992 and 1994 Olympic Winter Games in Downhill and Combined.
The clinic is run from December 13 to 15 and is open to anyone from 12 years with level 7 or above skiing ability. Level 7 means that the skier can ski in a comfortable open-stance parallel position on all blue and less challenging groomed black runs. Suitable skiers can vary their turn shape and are developing their edge control. Skiers need to be able to link turns in easier bumps but donโt need to be able to do more difficult bumps.

The 3-day clinic includes a three-day lift ticket, coaching fees, video analysis, and a dinner on Saturday night. Daily participation is also possible for those unable to commit to all three days.

Sugar Mountain is located in North Carolinaโs Blue Ridge Mountains at a base elevation of 4,100 feet. The resort reaches a peak elevation of ย 5,300 feet and offers 125 acres of skiable area across 20 trails. The resort is serviced by 1 High Speed Detachable Six Passenger Chairlift, 2 High Speed Detachable Four Passenger Chairlifts, 1 Fixed Grip Four Passenger Chairlift, 2 Fixed Grip Double Chairlifts, 2 Magic Carpets (1 โ beginner area, 1 โ Tubing). 14 of the slopes are lit for night skiing/snowboarding.
