Today was good at Cerro Catedral in Bariloche, Argentina. ย Real good. ย About as good as it gets up high. ย Felt like around 2 feet of new snow overnight up top. ย 6″ of new snow overnight at the base.
I watched the first people coming down Nubes (top ‘o’ the mountain – see photos above) from the chair and the white smoke they were kicking up was insane… ย Something you don’t see very often anywhere…
Many many faceshots…
It snowed all the way down to town last night and today. ย The top of the mountain is about 5,500-vertical-feet above town. ย That makes for some dry snow up top…
It was snowing hard when we arrived this morning and it was socked in. ย Then, at about 10am, it started to lift and eventually even got sunny for a while.
Literally everything was good. ย Militares trees were sick. ย Right under the chair off Punta Nevada, La Hoya, and Militares was terrific. ย Nubes was phenomenal.
PLUS, you could ski all the way to the base without touching dirt nor stone. ย
It was a great great day today. ย Just about as good as it gets.
It’s currently (6pm) snowing hard in town, again… ย Tomorrow is gonna be wild…
Forecast is for more snow tonight and tomorrow then sun this weekend. ย What a week! ย It’s been powder everyday since Saturday…
