Today was good at Cerro Catedral in Bariloche, Argentina. Real good. About as good as it gets up high. Felt like around 2 feet of new snow overnight up top. 6″ of new snow overnight at the base.
I watched the first people coming down Nubes (top ‘o’ the mountain – see photos above) from the chair and the white smoke they were kicking up was insane… Something you don’t see very often anywhere…
Many many faceshots…
It snowed all the way down to town last night and today. The top of the mountain is about 5,500-vertical-feet above town. That makes for some dry snow up top…
It was snowing hard when we arrived this morning and it was socked in. Then, at about 10am, it started to lift and eventually even got sunny for a while.
Literally everything was good. Militares trees were sick. Right under the chair off Punta Nevada, La Hoya, and Militares was terrific. Nubes was phenomenal.
PLUS, you could ski all the way to the base without touching dirt nor stone.
It was a great great day today. Just about as good as it gets.
It’s currently (6pm) snowing hard in town, again… Tomorrow is gonna be wild…
Forecast is for more snow tonight and tomorrow then sun this weekend. What a week! It’s been powder everyday since Saturday…
