Winter might be closer than you think. Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada, is the latest resort in North America to boast of having received a dusting of snow in August.
Today’s picture shared on social media shows snow falling and accumulating on the resort’s slopes at the top of Stoke Chair at 7,300′.
On Friday, Sunshine Village Ski Area in Banff, Alberta, was the first resort in North America to report summer snow. Over the weekend, Palisades Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain in California, Mount Rose-Ski Tahoe in Nevada, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming shared images of snow on their slopes. It was the first time in 20 years that California had received snow in August.
14,179′ Mount Shasta in Northern California received over 15″ of fresh snow.
Temperatures in Revelstoke are expected to rise tomorrow, meaning the snow will all but melt. But it’s enough to get us stoked for the upcoming winter.
Winter’s coming.
