Word has been out for quite sometime that Momentum Climbing Gym was planning a second location in the Salt Lake Area in addition to their Sandy location.  The newest location will be located in Millrock and Momentum just released a video showing an impressive 3D rendering of the top-rope and lead climbing area of the gym.  Still yet to be released is the rendering of the bouldering section of the gym.

One of the most impressive sections is about 70 feet of terrain averaging about 42 degrees overhung.

This will be a huge benefit this winter when the weather turns ugly, well beautiful for us skiers, as the current facility can be overwhelmingly busy on down weather days.

The current gym is located next to the REI located in Sandy, Utah.  It contains over 20,000 feet of lead climbing, top roping, crack climbing and bouldering.  They also have a gym and yoga studio.  The current facility has walls that contain routes from 5.9 – 5.14 up to 50 feet in length and are routinely changed.

If you are wondering when this new facility will open, Momentum has an answer for that.

It will be done in time for the winter season. A more definite timeline will be out in about two weeks, but we will keep posting info as we get it.
