This past week, winter storms delivered snow all across the United States, from coast to coast, and eastern Tennessee even got in on the goods.
Sean Leader, the founder of Windrock Bike Park just west of Knoxville, Tennessee, posted an awesome video skiing and snowboarding with Bryson Presson through the bike park on January 16. They enjoyed a couple leisurely laps through the glades while the park was temporarily closed to the public. Not only did they get to ski on fresh Tennessee snow, but Leader also sent it off the Red Bull drop, too.
The Cumberland Mountains (where Windrock Bike Park is located) typically do not see much snowfall. In fact, the bike park is known for being open year-round, providing athletes from snowier landscapes a perfect getaway to ride their bikes.
However, this storm provided a fantastic opportunity for Leader and Presson to strap in and get some freshies. In response to a comment on the post, Leader wrote, “We got 10 inches of snow yesterday. Most snow Iโve ever seen in Tennessee.” Due to the snow and ice, the park will remain closed to the public until further notice while the weather warms back up.
Skiing and snowboarding through a bike park with fresh snow in Tennessee is an incredible accomplishment. Hats off to these guys for putting the bikes (and hard work) aside to have some fun in the snow!
