On Thursday August 3rd, Colorado saw snowfall on the top of the high mountain Monarch Pass.ย
Local drivers commented that conditions changed as they drove up the pass and temperatures dropped. ย Rain turned into freezing rain, turned into pea sized hail, turned into a slush-rain-snow with motorists fishtailing in the icy slush.

Monarch Pass, Highway 50 is located on the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains, Sawatch Range it tops out at an elevation of 11,312 Feet.
