A snowskate event premiers at the world famous Ruby Hill Rail Yard on Friday, February 17, at 11 a.m. in Denver, Colorado. The competition will have two divisions, bi-deck and single deck, on the most urbanized snowpark with rail/box/jumps/banks to ever be set up for a snowskate event. Prizes for both divisions include swag and cash. There is no entry fee for competitors. In addition, there is no fee for spectators and there will be snowskates available anyone wanting to try snowskating.

Snowskates have been around for many decades and emulate skateboarding on the snow. A single deck snowskate is basically a skateboard without wheels and trucks that with modern p- tex material and channels fashioned on the bottom of the skate deck can easily slides down any snow hill and can be ridden like a skateboard for ollies, shuvits, box/rail slides, etc.

A bideck snowskate is a combination of a skateboard top deck and specialized pivoting trucks that connect a โ€œsub-deckโ€ (aka a ski, but isn’t called a ski since it acts more like a snowboard than a ski). Bideck snowskates are very maneuverable on all snow conditions and handle the groomers to deep powder and slide to a side-stop on a dime like a snowboard.

Snowskates are just like a skateboard that can be ollied and do all kinds of skateboard inspired tricks including hitting the rails and boxes at a ski resorts rail and jump park. Bideck snowskates are allowed on all runs at the cooler ski-resorts.

So come on out to snowskate the Ruby Hill Snowskate Slam Fest the Saturday of the Presidentโ€™s Day Weekend at the Ruby Hill Rail Yard 1200 W Florida Ave, Denver, CO, 80223 starting at 11 am.
