While Tahoe remains dry and the forecast remains bleak, things took a turn for the worse at Squaw over the past two days with sewage problems reminiscent of the issues they encountered last year.ย Today, the Mountain Run was closed from the start and by 10:30 they had shut down the entire upper mountain in order to attempt to continue repairs of the damaged lines.
Squaw had a similar issue last Christmas, and while we don’t know the exact details of the issue, the stench that arose with some whispers of wind indicate that it is another sewage issue.ย They had to shut the water off on the upper mountain, resulting in it’s closure for the day.ย This is a bum deal over Christmas week, but sometimes ya just have to role with the blows.
With the closing of the upper mountain there was a mass exodus down the hill, resulting in a line to get DOWN the mountain.ย Having to download after Christmas is a little like rubbing salt in the wound given the winter we’ve seen thus far.ย

Things aren’t looking great for Tahoe, with nothing but sunshine and high temps in the extended forecast.ย As tired as you may be, keep on doin’ those snow dances, because we’re in trouble here in Tahoe!
Guess that’s a new list of stated ill-advised activities. Things are getting weird. Dress code next??
Ice skating at high camp on the afternoon of the 26th they announced that it was a sewer line break.
Is it going to contaminate the water that supplies my Valley residents and visitors? Did this occur last year too ?
The pong makes the Snowgods think we’re sacrificing lots of snowboarders. It’s a brilliant plan to make it snow, really.
so glad we at least have a new yoga studio!
We were there walking up to the funitel when it shut down. Everyone had to ski Red Dog and Resort Chair till it got skied off (11:30).Not worth the effort anyway at
Squaw, conditions are junk, they should be selling $40 lift tickets at max and we are season ticket holders. Employees are trying hard but spend the money at a beach somewhere.
holy shit!
