After a winter marked by record-breaking snowfall and some of the best skiing conditions in years, Stowe Mountain Resort will close for the season on Sunday, April 27, as it announced earlier this week. The 2024-25 winter season brought over 300 inches of snow to the iconic Vermont resort, with January and February setting the tone for a standout year. Despite warm spells and variable conditions elsewhere in the Northeast, Stoweโs snowfall totals and mountain operations held strong into spring.
โIt has been amazing to be back in Vermont for a season with over 300 inches of snow,โ Mike Giorgio said, Vice President and General Manager of Stowe Mountain Resort. โFrom the fresh flakes on opening day to the record snowfall in February and the return of the pond skim, it has truly been a privilege to share the mountain with everyone this season.โ
The resort will continue operating off the FourRunner Quad lift through closing day. While the Spruce Peak area has already closed, skiing and riding will remain available from the Mansfield Base Lodge. All parking will be free through April 27, and guests are advised to park at the Mansfield Base Area. All tickets, rentals, and dining services for the remainder of the season will also be based there.
With its location on Vermontโs highest peak, Stowe has long been known for some of the Northeastโs best skiing conditions. This season exceeded expectations and delivered the kind of deep-snow days and consistent coverage that local skiers dream about.
The resort is already looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, with Epic Passes now on sale at the lowest prices of the year. For a limited time, pass purchases include two Buddy Tickets that allow friends and family to ski at a discount of up to 45%.
Popular pass options include:
-
Northeast Value Pass ($642): Unlimited access to several top Northeast resorts, including Mount Sunapee, Attitash, Wildcat, and Crotched, with access (and some restrictions) at Okemo, Stowe, Hunter, and Mount Snow.
-
Epic Local Pass ($783): Includes access to local resorts and out-of-region destinations like Vail, Park City, and Whistler Blackcomb.
-
Epic Day Pass: A customizable option starting as low as $47 per day, allowing guests to ski or ride between 1 and 7 days throughout the season.
-
Epic 1-Day Pass: Starting at $56, with 20% savings on food, lodging, lessons, and rentals through Epic Mountain Rewards.
While the lifts will stop spinning soon, Giorgio said the memories made this season will carry on.
โI am filled with gratitude for our team and the guests who have welcomed me into the Stowe Mountain family,โ he said. โI look forward to seeing you all back on the slopes soon.โ
