The severe weather has forced the closure of many ski resorts across the Northeast since Monday. Those ski areas that did manage to open on Monday shut down early due to high winds. Parts of the Northeast are experiencing intense flooding, having received over six inches of rain in 24 hours, leading to power outages throughout the region. According to poweroutage.us, 400,000 customers were without power in Maine and around 250,000 in Massachusetts. Gregg Falls Dam and Kelleyโs Falls Dam are currently releasing water to reduce water levels caused by excessive rainfall. Flood warnings remain in effect for many areas across New England areas until Tuesday. As the rain begins to dissipate, the aftermath of the storm’sย damage will become visible across the region.ย
