The warning is in effect beginning Saturday evening and ends on Sunday night. 12-20 inches of snow are forecast above 7,000 feet during the winter storm warning. Tahoe Forecast = 6″ of Snow Thursday Then Atmospheric River for Weekend Lake Tahoe is finally coming alive after it’s driest start to the season on record. Squaw just got 14″ in the past 4 days, up to 6 inches of snow is forecasted this week, and an atmospheric river is on tap for this weekend. Another Atmospheric River Possible in Tahoe on Sunday: Here is a shot of the satellite of the system sliding down the coast yesterday. Tahoe was sitting in a weak deformation zone that set up over our area. A deformation zone is defined as ” an area in the atmosphere where winds converge on one axis and diverge on another”.
