Amendment 64 allowed adults to possess up to an ounce of marijuana, and also required the state to set up a regulatory structure for the retail marijuana industry. Colorado Governor Signs Bill to Mass-Pardon Minor Marijuana Convictions

Is Colorado's newly legal recreational marijuana fueling record skier visits?

Vail, CO Town Council Votes to Permanently Ban Marijuana

Earlier this week, SnowBrains reported on Vail, CO putting a vote to permanently banning marijuana retailers in the town of Vail. On Tuesday night the Vail town council voted 6-1 in favor of banning marijuana sales in Vail giving “first reading approval” to the ban. This vote was the first step in making Vail’s 2014 temporary ban on marijuana stores in Vail permanent. Final approval voting will take place on August 4th, 2015. Future town councils can reverse this ban at any time. It won’t exactly be a permanent ban but more of a “banned for now” situation. In all likelyhood, the Vail town council will pass this ban on August 4th.

Colorado On-Track for Most Skier Visits on Record | Is Legal Marijuana to Blame?

Many blamed the bump in skier visits due to recreational marijuana being legal in Colorado (and the USA) for the first time ever. Above average snowfall last winter didn’t hurt, either. This winter, Colorado is claiming they are getting even more skier visits than last year. 2% more. If Colorado stays on track, this winter could be their new record high for skier visits. This […]
