Trip Report: A Whirlwind Tour of the Pacific Northwest

cool scenery

Before this season even started I was investigating a big ski trip in January. Two good friends and ski buddies had recently relocated to Seattle. A week ago, on December 22nd, Crystal was able to reopen the upper portion of the mountain, allowing hungry weekday skiers to enjoy deep, dry, bluebird powder turns. At 7am that Monday morning some evo coworkers and I left Seattle in search of hot laps and heavy snow.

Crystal Mountain, Wa RE-OPENS for the Season Today!

Crystal Mountain ski resort in Washington state re-opens for the season today with the Mt. Rainier Gondola and Green Valley Express today. Beginning tomorrow, Crystal will expand their terrain greatly by add in the Chinook Express, Forest Queen Express & Rainier Express. They’re even talking about a possible Chair 6 opening on Wednesday. Crystal had opened earlier this month, but warm temperatures, unfrozen precipitation, and the evil Pineapple Express resulted in Crystal closing again to wait for better conditions. Those better conditions are here now after 19″ […]
