An avalanche killed seven climbers and injured one in the Pelvoux region of the French Alps today. This was the deadliest avalanche in the Alps this year. Avalanche Kills 1, Injures 2 on Mt. Moran, WY Yesterday

One skier was killed and two others injured yesterday morning when an avalanche swept them down the very intense Sickle Couloir on Mount Moran in Wyoming. The avalanche reportedly swept the skiers 500-vertical-feet down the couloir over rock and ice. The man killed was Luke Lynch, a 38-year-old Jackson, WY resident. He was skiing the 3,100-foot-long, 45-degree Sickle Couloir on 12,605′ Mt. 5 Skiers Die, 1 Severely Injured in 2 French Avalanches Yesterday

3 people are confirmed dead and 7 are currently missing after an avalanche struck 10 hikers in the French Alps yesterday at 3pm. The avalanche occurred in France’s Ecrins National Park near Pelvoux only 120 km north of the tragic Germanwings crash last week. The avalanche hit a group of 10 hikers and their guide. Weekend Death Toll Rises to 5 in Alps | 28th Avy Death in France

A male skier in his 50s was killed in an avalanche on February 22nd, 2015 in the French Alps. He was skiing with three other skiers when the avalanche struck. All four were caught in the avalanche. Two of the surviving skiers were severely injured in the slide and one woman was uninjured. The avalanche occurred at 1:30pm at an elevation of 1,700m (5,577-feet) in the Taillefer range of the French alps near the town of Val d’Isere about 25 miles south of Grenoble.
