How They Pulled Offf the โ€œForest Segmentโ€ in Valhalla:

valhalla

If youโ€™ve seen the Valhalla forest segment, youโ€™ve got a few questions that need to be answered like: Was snow used? What were they jumping off? Where did the get the snow from? Was it safe? This behind the scenes video answers those questions and shows us exactly how Sweetgrass pulled it off. Valhalla won โ€œMovie of the Yearโ€ at the Powder Awards last week. Go behind the scenes with Sweetgrass on the set of โ€œValhalla.โ€ To produce the forest segment, where skiers jib off [โ€ฆ]

Sweetgrass Productions Forest Segment from โ€œValhallaโ€

forest segment valhalla

You will not see any snow in this video. Itโ€™s just skiers flying and flipping and spinning through the air with no snow in sight. Occasionally youโ€™ll see their skis touch the forest floor or log slide a mossy tree, but youโ€™ll never see their skis touch snow. This is the most creative video weโ€™ve seen in skiing. The shots are clean, the tricks are solid, and there is no snow at all. Unreal. โ€œFrom backflips through old growth trees to huge airs over raging [โ€ฆ]
