6 Skiers Die in French Avalanche | Deadliest Avalanche in France in 8-Years It is being report that skiers which consisted of four men and two women aged between 58 and 73 were hiking and skiing when they were swept to their deaths by a large avalanche. This incident happened early in the morning on January 25th, 2015 in the Queyras mountain range which is close to the border with Italy. Ski and Snowboard Bungee Jumping in Tignes, France The adrenaline junkies over at Tignes Ski Resort in France have come up with the first ever ski and snowboard bungee jump. This insane new feature lets skiiers and snowboarders hook in to two bungee cords, then race down a 98-foot ramp followed by a 131-foot drop. Combining skiing, bungee jumping, and zip-lining, the ramp in Tignes is the first bungee jump dedicated exclusively to skiing. VIDEO: Watch Avalanche Slam Into 4 Skiers in a “Safe Zone” One very important part of skiing and riding in avalanche terrain is choosing appropriate safe zones. The skiers in the video thought they were in a safe zone until an avalanche is triggered by their fellow ski partner and slams into them fully burying 2 out of 5 of them. Snowboarder’s Body Found in Ice on Mt. Blanc, France After 2 Years The body of a Belgian snowboarder has been round on Mt. Blanc, France. He went missing over 2 years ago. Mountain climbers discovered the body very early on Saturday, September 6th, 2014 on the Dente de Geant (Giant’s Tooth) glacier at around 6,500 feet.
